A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk messages, but this issue can be solved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also vital to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you’ve got a website hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel includes quite a lot of functions, but it is astonishingly intuitive, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes only a single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll only need to click on the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the given email address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either turn off the latter feature or choose some other mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as easy and takes yet another mouse click on the same button.
